Q&A | A Feast of Trumpets Rapture - A License to Sin?
"Scott, if you believe the rapture is on the Feast of Trumpets, then what is keeping people from possibly going into sin any other time of the year? I am still a little confused about this ... where people could go back into sin, like giving them a sin license up to that time. Please explain."
Steve, Thank you for your question. Here is my answer in question form.
What is keeping an engaged bride-to-be from being unfaithful before her scheduled wedding day?
Could it be the love she has for her husband-to-be? How about her faithfulness to him, truthfulness towards him and self-control for him?
Just because it is most likely that the rapture will only happen on a scheduled Appointed feast day does not mean that loving, faithful, true and self-controlled Christians will live in sin the rest of the year. Only an unfaithful Bride/Christian who does not really love their Groom/Messiah would do such a thing. There is no such thing as a God-given "license to sin."
As a parallel analogy, only an undeserving little brat would be "naughty" all year long only to suddenly attempt to be "nice" just before Christmas eve when Santa Claus is scheduled to show up at his appointed time with presents for the good children.
My recommendation: Do your best to keep from sin all year round and remember how our Messiah taught us to pray."... lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."As the Bride of Christ, be self-controlled, loving, true and faithful to Him (our Groom) all year, every year, until He comes to take us to the wedding.
An old familiar phrase comes to mind, "Love God. Hate Sin." Simple.

P.S. Please forgive the reference to pagan Santa. The analogy works, however.
