The Feast of Trumpets
IMPORANT: NO FUTURE FULFILLMENT DATE (YEAR-MONTH-DAY) OF THIS APPOINTED TIME IS KNOWN OR CLAIMED BY THE AUTHOR.
At this point, even though this next festival is not one that occurs in the spring as this series is dedicated to, I feel the need to clarify something further. I presume you noticed that the rapture is Appointed to the autumn Feast of Trumpets in my graphic on the Pentecost page. This is for a very good reason based on much study ... many reasons actually. But I will focus on one. The Last Trumpet.
When revealing the resurrection of the dead in Mashiah and the calling up of the living in the Mashiah as well to meet them in the clouds, Paul wrote that this event we call the rapture will happen at the Last Trumpet.
See, I speak a secret to you: we shall not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:52
For this we say to you by the Word of the Master, that we, the living who are left over at the coming of the Master, shall in no way go before those who are asleep. Because the Master Himself shall come down from the shamayim, with a shout, with the voice of a chief messenger and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in Mashiah shall rise first. Then we, the living who are left over, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air - And so we shall always be with the Master. So, then encourage one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
This Last Trumpet is the voice of Elohim, whether it be YHWH, the Father or Yahshua, the Son. We know that at the rapture it is the voice of the Son because in the book of Revelation, John gives us the description of His voice and who it belongs to.
I came to be in the Ruah on the Day of YHWH (the Tribulation period), and I heard behind me a loud voice as a trumpet.
And I turned to see the voice which spoke to me. And having turned, I saw ... One like the Son of Man (Yahshua).
However, on earth in Jewish custom, the Last Trumpet is the final shofar blast of 100 shofar blasts blown during the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah). This blast is also known as the Takiah ha'Gadolah which is sounded as long as is humanly possible with increasing volume. It is the blast that ends this present church age.
YHWH said to Moses, “I am coming to you in a thick cloud..."So Elohim came down on the mountain in a thick cloud to meet with His people at the sound of a trumpet which waxed long and loud. He comes down and Moses goes up. Interesting. That sounds like the rapture description. It also sounds a bit like what happened in Acts chapter 2. Why? Because these are prophetic foreshadows.
"When the trumpet sounds long, let them come near the mountain.”
And it came to be, on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain. And the sound of the ram's horn was very loud. All the people who were in the camp trembled. And Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with Elohim, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because YHWH descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled exceedingly.
And when the blast of the ram's horn sounded long and became very strong, Moses spoke and Elohim answered him by voice.
